Enhancing your SWOT
Most managers are familiar with the SWOT analysis tool and even carry one out on a six month to one year basis, but often this analysis leads to just information rather an action.
The Enhanced SWOT takes the traditional SWOT analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats) and encourages the active use of the information to inform change and planning.
This change might include the use of strengths to take advantage of the opportunities for example or even completely removing aspects of the business or team function that are weaknesses and exposed to the threats.
The enhanced SWOT encourages the analysis to enable positive action and when action results then managers are more likely to see the benefit of a tool such as the SWOT.
